Freddie is not just a wonderful physio, he is a lovely caring person.
I had a large herniated disc in my lower back and was referred by my GP for surgery due to my symptoms.
Freddie was recommended to me and by working with him over the last year, I have managed to avoid surgery. My neurosurgeon was quite amazed that my herniation reabsorbed, as usually ones that size often need surgical intervention.
I could barely walk for several months and in excruciating pain: I could barely lift my legs more than forty degrees individually. I struggled to bend, sit, stand, lie down or walk. I found it almost impossible to get out of bed in the mornings due to the compression on the nerves. Freddie helped me to find a way to do these things, e.g by sitting a different way, to ease the pressure off my nerve, how to lie in bed on my side with my knees bent before log rolling to get out of bed. In addition I was given a regular exercise programme.
I wasn’t an easy patient. In my appointments I was often in tears with the pain. Despite this Freddie was always positive, kind, calm, professional and very empathetic to the pain I was in. Never once did I feel rushed. He took the time I needed.
He referred me to websites to read, helped me think differently about my pain and to have faith in the holistic process, despite me (some days) just wanting to be taken into surgery to make the pain disappear.
Without the help of Freddie, I genuinely don’t know if I’d have managed to recover this far at all, especially without surgery! I am forever grateful for the time Freddie has spent working with me.
Highly recommended.
